Other facts:
  • Airborn was the first name Don Dokken used for the band, but he had to change it to Dokken because another band with a record deal, already had Airborn as a band name.
  • In 1981, Don went to Germany to sing background vocals on the upcoming Scorpions album Blackout. The Scorpions singer Klaus Meine had a vocal ailment at the time.
  • The band Accept's manager secured Don of a record deal at Carrere Records when Don still was in Germany. The band was not yet complete.
  • Dokken got successful in Germany, which made the manager Cliff Bernstein sign them in the US. The band toured with Blue Öyster Cult in 1983.
  • Dokken opened up for Dio, Aerosmith, AC/DC & Judas Priest in 1985.
  • 1986, they recorded the song Dream Warriors for the movie A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.
  • After the Monsters of Rock tour 1988, the band went seperate ways. George Lynch went solo, so did Don. The bass player Jeff Pilson joined McAuley Schenker Group but only for the M.S.G. album, later Jeff joined Dio, but for the second time, only during the Strange Highways album.
  • Don and George had their issues towards each other but the band reunited for the Dysfunctional album.
  • According to Don, George took total control over the album Shadowlife, George himself said it was the perfect album to finish Dokken.
  • George had dropped the tour in Europe late 1997, Don looked up John Norum from the swedish band Europe who also played on Don Dokken solo albums in the early 90's, John joined the band for the tour, but went back to his solo career.
  • John Norum came back to Dokken for the tour dates, but after the release of Long Way Home and during the spring tour, John suffered with a hand injury, he got replaced by Alex De Rosso.
  • During 2010, a reunion was planned with the original Dokken, and also an announcement that the reunion would not happen, all this according to George. Who knows what happens next...
