MAGICAL COWBOYS?

In the beginning of the Pantera history, they started off by playing KISS and Van Halen Covers.
They have also been support acts for Stryper, Dokken and Quiet Riot. The bands promoted Panteras debut album Metal Magic ('83). The album was produced by the Abbott brothers father Jerry Abbott at Pantego Studios. before Phil Anselmo took the place as the frontman. Also before they went on the thrash & Groove metal train.

Before the big hit with the Cowboys From Hell album, the band Megadeth wanted Darrell Lance Abbott (Dimebag Darrell) to be their new guitarist, Dimebag said no the opportunity because he wanted his brother Vinnie Paul (Vincent Paul Abbott) to join on drums, but the band already had a drummer. So the brothers went back to Pantera
Which we are grateful for.

After the release of Cowboys From Hell in 1990,
Rob Halford (Judas Priest) performed with Pantera onstage. They later on opened up for Judas Priest in 1991.The year after, Rob Halford left Judas Priest and recorded the song Light Comes out of Black with Pantera for Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Other interesting fact: Pantera's Behind the Music, ('06) Jerry Abbott (Country music songwriter & record producer) talks about how his son Dimebag used to be in the KISS Army as a child.

VINCE NEIL, THE HOLY UNLUCKY.

After the death of Razzle (Hanoi Rocks) Vince got sentenced to jail for 30 days, 200 hours of community service, 5 years of probation & 2.6 million dollars in restitution for the victims of the crash. Vince was released after 15 days for good behaviour. The album Theatre of Pain with Mötley Crüe was dedicated to Razzle.

In 1992 Vince got fired from the band, he then sued Mötley Crüe for 25% of their future profits and 5 million dollars for the damages of being fired.

Not only did Vince have the car accident in the back of his mind, or getting fired from his band,  3 years later his 4 year old daughter Skylar passed away of cancer in 1995.
