- After the Japan tour in 1977, the band got on 4th place in the music act list in Japan. After ABBA, KISS, Led Zeppelin.
- Cherie Currie left the band the same year and Joan Jett took the place as official lead vocalist.
- Waiting For the Time was released , and The Runaways went on a tour with The Ramones.
- The band broke up in 1979 after disagreement of what music they should continue with. Joan Jett wanted to go for the punk rock mix, but Lita Ford & Sandy West wanted the Hardrock & Heavy Metal. The band went seperate ways for solo/other careers.
- In 2010 a movie was made about The Runways, Starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning.
